Election Area: Parbat-2 (Elected)
Bikash Lamsal was born on May 16, 1969 in Khanikhola VDC-2, Parbat. He is the son of Yagya Prasad Lamsal and Gomadevi Lamsal. A father of two children, Lamsal holds a Master's Degree in Management from Tribhuvan University. He is contesting from Parbat-2 in the CA Election 2013 representing CPN-UML.
He joined politics in 1982 by becoming a member of ANNFSU of Bhawani Bidyapith High School in Khanigaun. He was detained for 17 days for leading a protest against the hike in educational fees in 1985. Lamsal was charged with launching activities against the state and faced a legal case for almost two years at the office of the Dhaulagiri Zonal Chief in 1985.
He became a member of the ANNFSU's Preliminary Committee at Parbat Multiple Campus in Phalebas in 1998. He was elected as treasurer of Democratic National Youth Association's District Committee in 1991.
He became a member of the then CPN (ML)'s Khanigaun Committee in 1991 and was later elected as member of the Free Student Union at Prithvi Narayan Multiple Campus, Pokhara. The 3rd General Convention of CPN-UML elected him as District Committee member in 1997. The party's 4th District Convention elected him as District Secretariat member and Regional Committee coordinator Constituency no. 2. The 5th District Convention held in 2004 elected him as undersecretary.
Detained for three months after the royal takeover in 2005, Lamsal was elected as secretary by the 6th District Convention in 2007 and went on to become the district president after the 7th District Convention in 2010. He was unanimously elected as Khanigaun VDC chairman in the local election of 1998.
