Narayan Kaji Shrestha 'Prakash', Born in 1959 in Jaubari-6, plunged into politics in 1976. His political life includes 3 year prison life, with 19 year underground life.
A teacher of Siddhatha Banasthali School, Kathmandu cum underground politician, Shrestha became a central member of the CPN (4th convection)led by Nirmal Lama in 1986 and subsequently served as a politburo member at CPN(Unity centre), formed after the merger of CPN(4th convection), CPN-Mashal, revolutionary fraction of CPN- Masal and Proletarian Workers Organization. After that Shrestha took leadership of CPN-Unity centre for 8 years and became deputy chair at UCPN-Maoist, after the unification between then CPN-Maoist and CPN-Unity centre, Masal in 2008.He served as a deputy prime minister and Minister for Home Affairs in the cabinet led by Jhal Nath Khanal. Likewise he was appointed as Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and Local Development Minister in UCP-Maoist coalition government led by Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.
Shrestha came in light when he protested the Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (BIPPA), which was signed on October 21, 2011, between Nepal and India. He played the key role in bringing the government and then agitating CPN-Maoist in the peace dialogue.
Son of Megh Narayan and Jyoti Maya Shrestha, Shrestha is close to chairman Prachand.

People walk for 3-4 hours to vote. The leaders, however, use helicopter to cover a distance of even just an hour's walking distance. Why does the EC not see this?

Those who capture booths are cowards, no matter whichever party carries it out. This is a disregard to the people's ballot. The election should be cancelled if the booth is captured.
