Unified CPN-Maoist (UCPN-Maoist) was formed in January 2009 after the unification between former CPN-Maoist and CPN (Unity Center-Masal). UCPN-Maoist has adopted Marxism, Leninism and Maoism as its guiding principle. It is one of the streams of Nepal Communist Party formed in 1950, though the party adopted the current name only in 2009 after the unification with Masal. Its formation also came as a part of multiple episodes of party split and unifications among Nepalese communists. UCPN-Maoist identifies establishment of socialism and communism in Nepal.
The party, formally known as CPN-Maoist, added a new doctrine ‘Prachanda Path’ to its guiding principle during the armed conflict period. However, the party later dropped it from its guiding principle after the unification with Masal. With the adoption of strategic move of a long-term armed revolution on February 13, 1996, the party indulged in a 10-year long armed conflict. However, after failing to yield any concrete results of a win or loss from the armed conflict, the then rebel party came to peace process. And on January 19, 2007, it reached to a historic Comprehensive Peace Agreement with the government and the decade-long armed conflict formally ended. The alliance of seven major political parties then made the historic declaration of republican set up in coordination with the then CPN-Maoist.
In 1991 legislative elections, CPN-Maoist had won nine seats to come to third position but went underground in 1996 to later emerge as the largest party after the CA Election-2008. The Maoists won 120 seats from FPTP with another 100 seats from PR. In January 2009, CPN-Maoist unified with CPN (Unity Center-Masal) to become UCPN-Maoist. However, it suffered a major blow in 2012 after the party went through a vertical split at the behest of Mohan Baidya ‘Kiran’, leader of the party’s hardliner faction.

People walk for 3-4 hours to vote. The leaders, however, use helicopter to cover a distance of even just an hour's walking distance. Why does the EC not see this?

Those who capture booths are cowards, no matter whichever party carries it out. This is a disregard to the people's ballot. The election should be cancelled if the booth is captured.
